The Eternal march begins!

Chaos warriors are in a strange situation as a kit. On the one hand they are in an army that -more so than any other perhaps- lends itself to customization and conversion (which is one of the things that drew me to chaos in the first place), but on the other hand the kit -while great looking- is rather plain, there isn't much you can do to make a warrior different from another beyond a simple head-swap or giving them a different weapon. So what is one to do when they put their mind to making chosen, and not just chosen, but chosen with the classical sword and board load-out so common to chaos warriors (and also one I have around 40 other warriors with)? I couldn't exactly easily spruce up the torso's, nor could I really give them interesting looking weapons in the form of halberds or great weapons, and the kit isn't one that lends itself to different poses either. These limitations in mind I decided to focus on the heads, but I'm not going to stop at a simple headsw...

The champion for my chaos knight regiment (The Hexed) is finished. Unlike the other riders he has a lance and horns to give him some verticality and help him stand out among his peers. In addition I decided to play with the colors on the details, since with such a uniform armor scheme its easy for models to end up looking samey. As such his horse is a brown (in contrast to the previous riders dark grey/black charger) and the reins are a beige/white with some blood stains on) Overall I am fairly happy with how the model turned out, and I look forwards to having the full regiment painted up and assembled in formation,

No evil horde is complete without a war machine, with that logic in mind I KNEW I had to have a hellcannon for my chaos army. There is just one small snag in that plan, or rather two, the original hellcannnon model is out of production (and INCREDIBLY expensive to obtain) and I don't really like it (I think its a fine model, but im not the biggest fan of it, I want my hellCANNON to look more cannon like (this criticism also applies to its rules). Think of that weapon from the first Gotrex and Felix book.) Knowing this I decided to go with an idea I had back when the world still made sense, I was too poor to do any of this stuff, and Warhammer Fantasy wasn't cancelled. I would use the Ogre Ironblaster as the base for my conversion, its an already brutal looking model and with some chaos gubbinz and a more mutated mount it would fit right in with any ruinous horde. And so was born The Thunderer. The first order of business was the beast pulling the thing, and thats where the demo...
