Scheduling as promised. Promise!

 Coursework is killing me. But I managed to get some work done on my putrid blight kings.

The pale white/blue skin makes a great contrast to their rusty dark brown armor, and the purple of the boils should make for a nice spot contrast.

Theyre also fairly easy to paint!





The first model I painted for the unit, you can spot the wet-pallete in the backgroud, neat piece of gear that.






And the unit as a whole. Putrid Blight kings have a very distinct look, and they should contrast nicely with the more armored chaos warriors and knights.

For every dark lord laying waste to the lands of men, dwarves and elves, or mighty sorceress tearing her foes apart with the darkest of magics, there is the servant, the twisted, shadowy figure that carries out their will from the shadows. The one for today is Murgur Shadowspawn (or just "The Shadowspawn"), the hunched and malformed acolyte of The Witch, tasked with serving her champion (and perhaps keeping an eye on him). The Eternal march begins!

Chaos warriors are in a strange situation as a kit. On the one hand they are in an army that -more so than any other perhaps- lends itself to customization and conversion (which is one of the things that drew me to chaos in the first place), but on the other hand the kit -while great looking- is rather plain, there isn't much you can do to make a warrior different from another beyond a simple head-swap or giving them a different weapon. So what is one to do when they put their mind to making chosen, and not just chosen, but chosen with the classical sword and board load-out so common to chaos warriors (and also one I have around 40 other warriors with)? I couldn't exactly easily spruce up the torso's, nor could I really give them interesting looking weapons in the form of halberds or great weapons, and the kit isn't one that lends itself to different poses either. Mr Monday.

While waiting for some deliveries I have worked on my chaos knights, and I am happy to present the first finished model (#1 of 7). While I am unable to provide full pictures for the process due to the models being started before the blog I hope you enjoy the finished product. The models were primarily painted using an excellent tutorial I found online ( https://borgninespainting.blogspot.com/2019/04/rusted-armor-statues-tutorial.html ) Typhus corrosion was used to dull the metal somewhat after my washes gave it an oily look and I didnt quite get the rust effects down so I decided to forgo them, maybe next time (hellcannon perhaps?) Overall I am rather happy with how the metal turned out, its exactly the sort of muted and drab color scheme I was going for. and in my opinion the bright blue of the Ensorcelled Weapon helps give the model a nice visual focus and will serve to tie the regiment to my army.
