Failures of the Apocalypse

 Coursework continues to pile up, but ive made some progress (and a couple of mistakes) This lovely brute is a Fomoroid Crusher, and will likely end up being a unit filler (I initially bought him to be a giant, but hes a bit scrawny for that). He was painted in a similar manner to the PBK's from earlier, but you may notice his shiny black shoulder pad, an attempt at using an ink I had recently acquired. While I am not too displeased with how it looks, and it worked fine on the hair too, the ink is far more opaque than I had realized, and is not very suitable in the way I invisioned using it (as a shade). I may have to try it with an airbrush if I ever get the time. The ink also dries glossy, which gives models a very oily look (as you will see later) Afted a few painting sessions of armor, dirty white and grey, I wanted a break.  Coursework is killing me. But I managed to get some work done on my putrid blight kings. The pale white/blue skin makes a great contrast to their rusty dark brown armor, and the purple of the boils should make for a nice spot contrast. Theyre also fairly easy to paint! The first model I painted for the unit, you can spot the wet-pallete in the backgroud, neat piece of gear that. And the unit as a whole. Putrid Blight kings have a very distinct look, and they should contrast nicely with the more armored chaos warriors and knights.

Having painted the minotaur general I was left with a hankering for more, and soon enough I was painting yet another one of Zealot Miniatures gorgeous minotaurs. For the color scheme I decided to try and go for a white skinned look, washing a white primer with layers of purple and then slowly building it back up to white. This was another attempt at the scheme I tried with the general (it didnt exactly turn out as expected this time either) The pale skin and orangeish hair made me think of your stereotypical scottish barbarian, so I decided to add some warpaint to add to the effect.  

 Minotaurs are one of the iconic fantasy monsters, and for good reason (theyre cool). This has naturally lead to them having lots of different models from various sources, but unfortunately both iterations made by GW failed to scratch my itch when it came to these bovine behemoths.     Not a fan of the musculature or the poses, still, I suppose it would have been nice to have more bitz. LOOK AT IT. Its at home in a kids cartoon, not a battlefield. Also note the derpy teeth consistent in both iterations. Thankfully however zealot miniatures produce absolutely stunning models, ones that fit the aesthetic of warhammer perfectly while also looking stunningly good in general (theyre so good even my sloppy painting didnt ruin them). My chaos knight regiment is finally complete. They dont quite rank up so I couldnt get the exact sort of group photo I wanted.  Thankfully the individual pictures are better: The standard bearer: Musician:   Champion (you've allready seen this one): And the rank and file: This post may have come off as a bit long, but Im pleased with how the whole squad turned out. Dont expect to see individual photo's for every single chaos warrior though.
